About Centralya
Centralya is an autonomous domain within the nation of Vyktory. It is home to 1,821,971 people and is located in the centre of Vyktory.
Centralya gained autonomy on 3 June 2010 after King James I gave into pressure from Centralyan natives sick of the treatment they received from the Four Corners of Vyktory, those being Jamestown, Harrisville, Stamford and Georgetown. Such area based discrimination had been rife for a very long time, and after a series of protests, some peaceful, many violent, the King decided enough was enough. In exchange for autonomy, which encompassed all areas bar the military, King James I made Centralya swear fealty to the Vyktoryan Throne.
The capital of Centralya is Bath, which is located in the south east of the domain, it is home to 412,133 people and spreads out in low density sprawl for many a mile. Centralya's main industries are logging and farming. The most profitable crop for farmers is cannabis, which is legal in all of Vyktory, but is heavily regulated by the government.
Centralya is know for being an agarian area, with little to no technology seen in the technologically advanced Four Corners. While colour TV has been around for around 20 years, computers are hard to find in the domain, with the number of computers per thousand baing a lowly 19.3, compared to the rest of the nation's 891.2 (including smartphones and tablets). Internet service is even more sporadic, with just 12.1 per capita. As such, Centralya is known as the "Backwards Backwater" which also pokes at it's ultra conservative leanings. Bath however is a bastion of liberalism, even if the area isn't too far ahead of the rest of Centralya tech-wise.
The head of Centralyan state is His Majesty the Monarch, who is currently HRM James I of House Knight. The head of government is the Prime Minister of the Centralyan Legislative Commons. Elections use Proportional Representation with seats alotted for each major city on a population based system.
